Reservations on RentalReady can be extended upon guest request, but the process changes according to the platform the guest used to book the original reservation.
DO NOT extend a platform reservation check-out date directly from RentalReady. The change will not be taken into account in the platform extranet, and the original check-out date will be resynchronised at the next sync cycle. You will risk to incur in double bookings, because the dates will be bookable again.
Modify an existing reservation
For VRBO and direct booking websites only
- On the reservation page, click on edit reservation
- Select the new departure date in the reservation end date field
- Modify the financial details if necessary
- Click on save changes
N.B: in the case of a reservation on GuestReady, you must ask the RentalReady support team to change the date
The missions associated with the reservation will be shifted to the new dates selected, and the relevant guest notifications will be sent according to the date change.
If you also wish to charge the guest for the extra nights, you have two options:
- you can use the payment link from the initial reservation, which will be updated automatically if you change the financial details of the booking
- You can generate a new payment link by clicking on create a payment link in the finance section of the reservation page.
You can then send it to the guest from the mailbox.
N.B: If the guest has already paid a deposit, it is possible that the validity of the link will be exceeded on the guest's new departure date. See the relevant article for more information: Swikly or Stripe
Extend the reservation from the mailbox
For Airbnb and Booking.com only
For Airbnb, go to the mailbox, select the Propose changes to guests option and make the desired changes.
Once the guest has confirmed the new departure date, the changes will be automatically imported into RentalReady. Financial data, missions and guest notifications will also be updated.
Payment for additional nights will be managed directly by the platform.
Please note that it is not possible to change a current booking or a booking with an arrival date later than the departure date.
In both cases, you will need to create a new reservation.

Create a new reservation
For all platforms
By creating a new reservation to extend the guest's stay, you avoid paying additional platform fees.
You have two options:
- Create a new reservation in its entirety
- Create a reservation extension
Create a new reservation
Create a new reservation with all the information you require.
- Cleaning and check out missions are automatically cancelled with comment Automatic cancellation: stay extension, when a post stay extension is created for a reservation and new missions will be created for the extension.
- Check-in mission is automatically cancelled for the extension. The missions are re-activated if the extension is cancelled Check in mission is automatically cancelled with comment Automatic cancellation: stay extension, when a pre stay extension is created for a reservation and new check-in mission will be created for the extension. Cleaning and check-out missions are automatically cancelled for the extension. The mission is re-activated if the extension is cancelled
Once the reservation has been created, please remember to :
- Deactivate any original reservation's relevant guest email templates
- Deactivate the new reservation's CONFIRMED, CHECKIN/SELF-CHECKIN, ARRIVAL templates
If you also want to charge the guest for the extra nights, you can use the automatically generated reservation payment link for the new reservation. You can then send it to the guest from the mailbox.

Create a reservation extension
Create a stay extension from the original reservation.
The reservation extension automates the extension:
- Information from the original reservation is taken into account
- Repeated missions are automatically cancelled
- STAY_EXTENSION_CONFIRMATION extension confirmation notification can be set up
- STAY_EXTENSION_PAYMENT_LINK payment link notification can be set up
The reservation extension is displayed in a different color on calendars to differentiate it from the original reservation.
