Reservations on RentalReady can be extended upon guest request, but the process changes according to the platform the guest used to book the original reservation.
Create a reservation extension
From the property calendar, click on the bar representing the reservation
In the right-hand column, click on Extend stay
Complete the form:
- Select the dates of the extension
- Select the reservation platform. N.B: it is possible to set a default platform at the office level. Contact RentalReady support to add this option
- Add a departure time if necessary
- Modify the accommodation fare amount if necessary. The value is automatically added using calendar data
- Add comments if required
Once you have completed the form, click on Create to confirm the extension.
Once the extension has been created, please remember to :
- Deactivate any original reservation's relevant guest email templates
- Deactivate the new reservation's CONFIRMED, CHECKIN/SELF-CHECKIN, ARRIVAL templates
If you also want to charge the guest for the extra nights, you can use the automatically generated reservation payment link for the new reservation. You can then send it to the guest from the mailbox.
N.B: If the guest has already paid a deposit, it is possible that the validity of the link will be exceeded on the guest's new departure date. See the relevant article for more information: Swikly or Stripe
DO NOT extend a platform reservation check-out date directly from RentalReady. The change will not be taken into account in the platform extranet, and the original check-out date will be resynchronised at the next sync cycle. You will risk to incur in double bookings, because the dates will be bookable again.
