Overview
Self check-in for a property can be set up in 3 ways:
- Always: property is always self check-in property
- Possible: system considers someone is always welcoming guests and give them the keys but the property can allow self check-in time to time
- Forbidden: property does not allow self check-in. System considers someone is always welcoming guests and give them the keys
In order that RentalReady send correct arrival instructions to guests, make sure to correctly set up your properties according to the self check-in option choosen.
Set up a self check-in property
From the property page, click on Edit property > Guest instructions > Key management tab
- in key management section, add the property key strategy. Select lockbox/padlock if you are using a manual key box or select on of available integrations if you are using a connected keybox or lock (eg: Igloohome)
From the property page, click on Edit property > General
- select always in the self check-in section. Then indicate how to access the keys and property step by step (in english and local language)
From the property page, click on Edit property > Missions
Select CHECK-IN SELF agent as default check-in agent.
N.B: if you want self check-in instructions you added on property to be sent automatically to guests, make sure to add corresponding variable within your guest notification template.
SELF CHECK-IN guest template is automatically sent by RentalReady, only if these 4 points are done:
- guest arrival is set
- CHECK-IN SELF (also called "UserAgent") agent is assigned to reservation check-in mission
- reservation is paid by guest
- security deposit is paid by guest (if applicable)
Set up a possible self check-in property
From the property page, click on Edit property > General
Select possible in the self check-in section. Then indicate how to access the keys and property step by step (in english and local language).
System considers, for all future bookings, someone is always welcoming guests and give them the keys.
Yet, you will be able to manually set up self check-in on reservations you want:
- Assign CHECK-IN SELF (also called "UserAgent") agent to reservation check-in mission
- Select self check-in option as guest status in the check-in dashboard
- Send manually SELF CHECK-IN template from mailbox or from reservation page
