Overview
Once the property is active in RentalReady, you can't edit which owner is associated to it.
Following reasons explain this security:
- data access: by changing the property owner, new owner will have access to full property history (past and future data) on his owner space. Previous owner will not have access to property history anymore on his owner space (although he will surely have to access it for declaration to authority for eg.)
- reservations splits: if you subscribed to RentalReady payment system, by changing property owner, payout issues can occur. Previous owner may receive money instead of new owner
If property owner has changed (property sold, dissolution etc), you have to create a new property to associate the new owner.
Duplicate a property
Before you start, make sure to create the new owner.
From the current property page, go to Options then Duplicate property. System will automatically create a new property already filled with all details you filled in duplicated property. New property internal name will be "ID - current property internal name - COPY"
Deactivate the property
From the new property page, go to Edit property
In the general tab, select the new owner you just created
Proceed to property activation
N.B: If you wish to edit property owner, even after checkin all the risks you can occur, contact RentalReady support team. After studying your case, you will receive a confirmation of change or decline.
