Only if you subscribed to the RentalReady payment system or if your Stripe account is connected to RentalReady.
You can create payment links from RentalReady in order to charge the guest for different reasons: to pay for the reservation, to pay for the deposit, to pay for an extra service, etc.
Create a payment link
There are two ways to create a payment link:
- from the reservation page: in the finance section then payment links
- from the payment links page: from the main menu, go to Finance > Payment links
Click on the create payment link button and fill in the form:
- Check the pre-authorization option if you only wish to make a bank imprint of the guest's credit card. If this option is activated, the guest will not be charged. This option is used for taking deposits
- Add reservation number if not already filled
- Add payment amount including VAT
- Select currency
- Select the category corresponding to the use of the payment link. If you choose the reservation payment category, the amount of the payment link will be automatically added to the total amount paid by the guest and included in the payment split
- Add an internal comment. This comment is visible only to staff users who have access to the payment link
- Add an external comment. This comment is visible to staff users and to the guest who has access to the payment link
Once you have completed the form, click on confirm to create the payment link.
Payment links management
You can find all the payment links you've created from the payment links page.
From the main menu, go to Finance > Payment links
You can refine your search by applying the filters at the top of the page.
Send a payment link
A payment link is not automatically sent to the guest.
To send it manually to the guest, you can copy and paste the link that appears:
- from the reservation page: in the finance and payment links section, click on the link
- from the payment links page: from the main menu, go to Finance > Payment links, search for the relevant reservation, in the last Action column, click on ... > Link to payment link
Payment link statuses
| Not paid | The guest has not yet paid |
| Paid | The guest has paid |
| Failed | Payment failed |
| Voided | The payment link has been voided |
| Authorized | The guest has pre-authorized the payment (only if the pre-authorization option was checked when the payment link was created). |
| Processed | The payment link has been processed (it is no longer possible to act on it) |
N.B.: The status of a payment link is updated in real time.
Collect payment link
From the main menu, go to Finance > Payment links
Search for the relevant reservation, in the last Action column, click on ... > Release/Capture
N.B.: If the option does not appear, this means that the bond has already been released. You can see when the payment link is due to be released and/or has been released in the expiration date column. Please note that you can only release a payment link if its status is authorized.
For all categories except Reservation payment, the payment link is automatically added as a payment resolution and closed under the label Transferred to property manager.
Step 1. Collect payment link
Fill in the form:
- Choose whether you want to collect a fixed amount or a percentage of the amount.
- Add the amount to be captured, the amount you wish to cash out. If you want to cash out the entire payment link, enter the total amount of the payment link. If you are cashing a part of the payment link, add the desired amount.
- Add the amount to be released, the amount you wish to return to the guest. If you are releasing the entire payment link, enter 0.
Once you have completed the form, click on confirm to collect the payment link.
You can send the payment link on the payment links page > Actions column > 3 dots > Link to payment link
