Once you've logged in to your WhatsApp account and registered your number, you'll be able to receive and send WhatsApp messages directly from the mailbox.
You can also send automated messages from RentalReady via WhatsApp to your guests.
Automated messages can be sent without the need to have received a first message from the phone number you're trying to send to.
N.B.: Automated messages templates are charged by WhatsApp/Meta.
Step 1. Create a template
Create a template
You must create the template from your Meta account.
Go to https://business.facebook.com/wa/manage/message-templates/ or to the Manage templates dashboard
Click on create template
- Select a category and a type. Please make sure you select the correct category for the content of the template, because it can be rejected by Meta afterwards.
- Add a relevant name. It will be shown in RentalReady afterwards
- Select the correct language. It will be rejected if the language is different
Template content
Header
Add a header if necessary. N.B.: RentalReady supports only text header
Body
The body of the template can contain text, emojis, links and variables.
It can only have 1024 characters (without counting the characters added by the variables).
The variables are added as the following {{n}} and have to be ordered.
For example, the body can have a text using two variables {{1}} and {{2}} or the same template multiple time {{1}} and {{1}}, but will return an error if a number is skipped: {{1}} and {{3}}.
In order to be approved, the templates have to have some relevant samples for the variables
Footer
Add a footer if necessary. N.B.: RentalReady supports only text footer
Once the template is created and approved by the Meta team, you can import it in RentalReady.
Step 2. Import the template in RentalReady
Import the template
From the main menu, go to Configuration > WhatsApp > WhatsApp templates
Click on Synchronise templates
Templates will be automatically imported into RentalReady. You will see it appear on the template dashboard.
Edit the template
If the template contains variables, you will have to set them in RentalReady, otherwise sending the template will fail.
From the main menu, go to Configuration > WhatsApp > WhatsApp templates
In the Actions column, click on ... > Edit
Select context variables for each part of the template:
- Header context
- Body context
- Footer context
Please make sure you use the same amount of variables as the WhatsApp template.
If you want to edit the content of the template, you will have to do it in your Meta account. Meta will have to review it again before approval.
Step 3. Activate the templates
Contact the RentalReady support team to inform them you want to activate the templates.
The sending automation will rely on triggers available in RentalReady for automated guest notifications.
