Once your Omnitec account is created you can connect it to RentalReady and set up your properties.
Connect the account
1. Add account
From the main menu, go to Reservations > Key Management
Go to Omnitec accounts tab
Click on Options > Add a new account
Fill in the form:
Add a name to the Omnitec account you are creating
Select a property manager
Add the instance name
Add Osacess API key
-
Select the credential strategy, it will decides which platform issues the access codes:
Passcode (Osaccess) - the default. A numeric code the guest types on the keypad.
Upkey (Osaccess) - an Omnitec webapp credential instead of a keypad code. RentalReady currently shows only the credential itself, not the webapp link, so use Passcode for the standard keypad flow
Passcode (Rent&Pass) - for properties with no Osaccess account at all.
Add Osacess template id
Add Rent&Pass credentials. N.B.: The form only accepts a strategy the account has the matching credentials for. Please note that the credentials are not checked against Omnitec when the account is saved, so a typo will only surface when the first code is issued
Add Rent&Pass client ID/client secret
Click on Save to create the account
Once the credentials are saved, the account shows as Active.
2. Register rooms
From the main menu, go to Reservations > Key Management
Go to the Omnitec smart locks tab
Click on Options > Register a room
Fill in the form:
Select the Omnitec account you created
Add the room number, up to two additional room numbers
Add the common areas and lifts
Add the Lock alias
When the room also exists in Rent&Pass, add the Rent&Pass lock ID
Click on Save
N.B.: If the account has Rent&Pass credentials, you can pull the locks in with Actions > Sync Rent&Pass locks. The sync only adds and updates, it never deletes, so rooms registered by hand for Osaccess are never removed by it. Locks that come back from Rent&Pass with no matching room are created with a placeholder room number, for the you to complete afterwards.
Set up properties
Omnitec allows you to link multiple rooms to the same property. In order to do so, you have to set the key strategy of the property to Managed smart lock. A new field will then appear in the property edit form, where users can select the devices. Please note that all devices linked to a property must belong to accounts of the rental’s property manager.
Access time window can be set at Office level
From the property page, click Edit Property
In the Guest instructions > Key management tab:
Select Managed Smart Lock lock in the key strategy field
Select the locks matching the property
Click Save to apply your changes
You can also go to the Omnitec rooms page and use Actions > Edit properties to select the properties for that room.
