Create a contract template in Dropbox Sign
Before creating a contract template, make sure to :
- log in your Dropbox Sign account. If you don't have any Dropbox Sign account, please create one
- have a blank copy of the contract you want to be signed by owners, the document has to be in pdf format
Create a new template

Click on create a template
- Upload the contract document and click on the next button

Add the signer role title - it's the person who is going to receive and sign the contract : the property owner (it must be “Host” to make sure it’s connected to RentalReady). Then click on the next button
Add Signer fields
In the signers column on the left of the page, select Host. Signer fields are highlighted in blue. Then, you have to add all fields you want the owner to fill in the contract:
- Click on signature field and place it where the owner should sign
- Click on date signed and place it where the signature date should be displayed
- Click on textbox to add an editable field and place it where the signature location should be displayed
- Add any other field if needed
Add Sender fields
In the signers column on the left of the page, select Sender. Sender fields are highlighted in pink. Then, you have to add all fields you want to be directly auto-filled from RentalReady data in the contract :
- Click on textbox and place it where you want it to be displayed
- To make it auto-filled, you have to update the textbox field in the column on the right of the page. Click on the textbox field you just placed and fill the merge field box with the corresponding code.
Here is the list of codes you must use so fields to be auto-filled with matching RentalReady data :

For example, to make the owner name auto-filled in the contract : click on textbox and place it on the document where it should be displayed. Then, in the merge field box, add the code host_full_name.
Once all needed fields are added, click on the next button.
Add a title and click on save template to validate the template.
Template integration with RentalReady
Once your template is created, please contact the RentalReady support to integrate it in RentalReady.
You will need to provide the template ID (you can find it on Template > ... > View info > More information > Template ID)
This template will be set up as your office default contract.
